DEADLINE LOOMS FOR PEP 11 LICENCE RENEWAL

The fight against a gas industry offshore of the Central Coast has returned to federal parliament.
A decision on whether to renew Petroleum Exploration Permit 11 is due later this month.
Environmentalists and community groups fear proposed drilling could threaten marine life and tourism between Sydney and Newcastle.
Dobell MP, Emma McBride is calling for both the federal and state resources ministers, not to renew its licence.
“In the pandemic recovery, tourism should be boosted, not threatened by risky proposals like PEP 11. PEP 11 puts our economic recovery at risk, it puts Central Coast jobs at risk.”
More than 70,000 people have signed a petition against PEP 11.
