GRAFTON RSL CELEBRATES 100 YEARS
The Grafton Returned Services League has reached an impressive milestone this week, celebrating 100 years.
Opening just before the end of World War One, the R-S-L sub-branch was one of the first to open in New South Wales.”We’ve achieved a lot in the last 100 years, we’ve helped a lot of diggers along the way, pensions, welfare and some of their families.”
President of 20 years, Brian Bultitude says his branch continues the mateship legacy from the bush.
“That’s where most of the diggers come from in the First World War, out of the bush thought they were going to have an adventure overseas.”
rafton R-S-L will celebrate the anniversary with a luncheon this Saturday.
