A 67-year-old man has had a lucky escape after making an emergency landing in a light aircraft near Tamworth airport this morning.
Emergency services arrived on scene just before 11 o’clock, after the pilot reported he was experiencing engine failure and saw smoke in the cabin.
He was uninjured, but taken to Tamworth hospital for observation.
