It’s the weekend for festivals, with Lake Macquarie set to shine again for the second Float Your Boat event.
Dozens of vessels will be decked out with thousands of lights.
“We want to see people out on the water during winter, so we have a beautiful summer here in Lake Macquarie but winter’s not used as much on the lake, so we want to encourage people to be out there.”
A 14-metre mermaid is just one of the feature pieces this year… along with other sea creatures and even Star Wars.
Boats will cast off tomorrow and Saturday night.
