SINKHOLE OPENS UP NEAR CALLAGHAN COLLEGE
A sinkhole has opened up near Callaghan College at Wallsend.
A Newcastle City Council spokesperson says the hole was first reported early this morning.
It’s believed mine subsidence caused the 1m x 1m hole to emerge, but it’s deeper underneath.

A concrete truck has arrived to fill in the sinkhole.
