A Newcastle magistrate has revoked a non-publication order, on the name of the man accused of abducting and sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl in Newcastle last week.
Police allege Brett David Hill kidnapped and sexually assaulted a young school girl during a five-hour ordeal at Adamstown Heights, last Tuesday.
Police say they have preliminary DNA results in the case, and one other person has come forward with allegations towards Hill.
The accused faced Newcastle Local Court this morning, he will reappear in August.
Prosecution argued Hill has heard of threats to his safety second hand, to the likes of 'this is the bloke from newy you should watch yourself or die' @nbnnews
