The body of a 45-year-old man reported missing in the Richmond River, south of Ballina, has been found this morning.
A large-scale search has been underway since Tuesday night, with emergency services responding to reports a man had fallen into the river and hadn’t been seen since.
His body was discovered this morning around 10am.
Police are now trying to piece together his movements prior to his death.
They say he may have been drunk, and was allegedly assaulted, moments before disappearing.
