It’s been a wild eight days for Lake Macquarie sailor Kyle Langford and his crew onboard Team Brunel in the Volvo Ocean Race.
Leg nine saw the fleet sprint across the north Atlantic from Newport in the US to Cardiff in Wales.
Brunel led from the front, and ended up claiming the stage and vital points.
But it wasn’t without problems.
Langford forced to make running repairs to fix a damaged rudder.
They’ll now enjoy a well earned two weeks off before the final two legs.
