CONSULTATION HELD IN PORT MACQUARIE TO TACKLE SUICIDE

Suicide prevention and tackling mental health issues were front and centre of a consultation held in Port Macquarie today.
Key organisations are working with the state government to develop a framework, which could help communities face mental health challenges unique to the region.
“So really going into regional, rural communities and talking with people on the ground so, stake holders, mental health service providers and people most importantly who have been impacted by suicide” – Kerri Lawrence, NSW Mental Health Commission.
The forum will be held in Taree on Friday.
