WOMAN ESCAPES INJURY AFTER CRASHING INTO WATER PUMPING STATION

A woman has been taken to John Hunter Hospital after crashing her car into a water pumping station at the University of Newcastle.

She was travelling along a road at the campus and veered onto the footpath.

The water supply to several buildings was temporarily cut-off as a result of the accident.

The woman has since been discharged from hospital.
