RYAN CALLINAN CLAIMS VICTORY IN JAPAN

Merewether surfer Ryan Callinan’s chances of requalifying for the world tour have had a massive boost, claiming victory at the QS 6000 event in Japan.
Surfing against Hawaiian Seth Moniz in the final, Callinan posted a 6.2 and 7 to claim the victory in deteriorating conditions at Shida Point.
An emotional Callinan dedicating the win to his late parents, Garry and Janice.
Congrats to Merewether’s @ryancallinan, winner of the @wsl_qs 6000 at Chiba in Japan! That’s a massive boost to his chances of qualifying for the @wsl Championship Tour for 2019. #WSL #surfing @nbnnews @surfest pic.twitter.com/jo5mRY2qu1
