MAN FACES COURT OVER ARMED ROBBERY AT EAST GOSFORD

A man has been refused bail after allegedly holding up two shops in East Gosford, armed with a knife.
Police say around 6.30 on Sunday evening, the 18-year-old threatened an employee and demanded cash at a liquor store on Victoria Street, but was chased off with a broom.
An hour later, he allegedly jumped onto the checkout counter of an IGA on the same street and threatened a male employee with a knife, before fleeing the scene with a small sum of cash.
He was arrested last night and faced court in Sydney this morning.
