PETER ALLEN FESTIVAL LAUNCHED IN TENTERFIELD

‘I Still Call Australia Home’ is a song that many would claim is a national icon.

Written by Australian music legend Peter Allen, his hometown of Tenterfield has launched a festival celebrating his life in the arts.

“Tenterfield has so much to be proud of, it’s history, it’s geography, it’s food and arts culture, and now it has the Peter Allen Festival,” says Vince Sherry from Tenterfield Business Chamber.

Announced on the historic veranda of The Tenterfield Saddler… the namesake of one of his famous songs.

With tickets now on sale, council is strongly backing the September event.

“I’m honored as mayor to be here today and show our support to council and from the get go, our support’s always been there, and any advice or direction we can give, that will be there all the time,” says Tenterfield Mayor Peter Petty.
