STATE GOVERNMENT BACKFLIPS ON MILK CONTRACT

The New South Wales government has backflipped on its controversial decision to award the Health Share contract to a dairy farm in Queensland.
Norco was today reinstated as the main supplier of dairy products to 15 north coast health facilities, including Lismore Base Hospital.
The Department of Health says the tender was originally made with taxpayer dollars in mind, but due to widespread public outcry has reversed the decision.
“I’ve been working behind the scenes for some 6 weeks now and I’ve been very well supported by all the North Coast Nationals because this has affected every hospital in the local health district.”
The Labor party congratulated the community saying the backflip was ‘pure people power’.
