MOTHER’S DAY CELEBRATED AT URUNGA

In Urunga today, several hundred people celebrated Mother’s Day at the waterfront reserve.
The event has become a yearly tradition on the coast, drawing people from all across the region.
Today’s numbers were down on past Mother’s Days…with the bitter gusty winds keeping some people indoors.
“It’s a beautiful day down here today if we could keep the wind away a little bit, but it is sunshine and everyone has come out with their blankets and chairs and families, it’s terrific.”)
Despite the conditions, there was plenty of entertainment and food to keep the crowd happy.
