A 71-year-old man has died after being involved in a collision with a car in Nelson Bay on Thursday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the intersection of Gowrie Road and Shoal Bay Road where they found the cyclist suffering critical head injuries.
The cyclist died in hospital a short time later.
An 84-year-old male driver of a Toyota Camry, from Sydney is assisting police with their investigation.
