REVIEW FINDS MINIMAL LINKS BETWEEN PFAS AND HUMAN DISEASE
A independent review has found limited evidence to suggest exposure to P-FAS is linked with human disease.
In 20-16, sampling at Tamworth Regional Airport revealed low levels of P-FAS contamination in the soil – caused by toxic firefighting foam used previously at the airport site.
The federal government set up an expert health panel to investigate the potential health impacts following concerns raised at other contaminated sites.
Today it released its findings, concluding there is ‘no current evidence to suggest an increase in overall cancer risk’.
