NSW FAIR TRADING ISSUES ADVICE TO BRINDABELLA CUSTOMERS

The NSW Fair Trading Commissioner, Rod Stowe, is urging customers of Brindabella Airlines to investigate their consumer rights, after it went into receivership at the weekend.
It comes as eight of Brindabella’s 10 planes were grounded by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority because of lapsed safety checks.
“My advice to travellers who were scheduled to use the service or are facing further costs after becoming stranded, is to investigate the following options,” he said.
Customers are urged to look into credit card, travel insurance and internal creditor, KordaMentha, for options.
Qantas and Virgin Australia are providing relief flights for some of the collapsed airline’s routes.
The future of Brindabella’s 140 employees is not yet known.
