DOMESTIC VIOLENCE DISCLOSURE SCHEME EXTENDED
The state government’s Domestic Violence Disclosure Scheme has been extended for another year.
The scheme helps people, who may be at risk of domestic violence, find out if their partner has a history of violent criminal offences.
In 2016, Tamworth was one of four regions chosen to trial the initiative, allowing residents to request a safety risk assessment from police.
The scheme’s expected to be rolled out across the state if it proves successful.
