Some sporting groups across the Hastings have received a financial boost with almost $50,000 in funding from the state government.
Seven groups including Port Macquarie’s swimming, tennis, golf, AFL and rowing clubs will benefit.
“What it means is these really grassroots local sporting organisations have an opportunity to make some improvements or to run sporting programs in the local area” – Leslie Williams, Member for Port Macquarie.
The swimming club is the beneficiary of a $15,000 grant to be spent on a permanent sun shade.
“It’s really exciting that we are finally able to have the shade leading up to the blocks as we won’t be using the quick shades anymore in the bad weather” – Zara Phillip, Swim Club Member
