TAMWORTH AND WALCHA REACH GRAND FINAL OF BEST TASTING TAP WATER STATE COMPETITION

It’s official – the best tasting tap water in the state comes from Port Macquarie.

Water samples have been put to the test in Tamworth over the last two days to determine a winner.

Today saw water from Tamworth, Walcha, Port Macquaire Hastings and Kempsey poured out for the grand final.

“We’re asking them to judge it on the clarity – so what the appearance of the water – the odour, but ultimately it’s a taste test so may the best taste win,” Craig Mathisen, Water Industry Operators Association.

Port Macquarie will now contest the Australian Best Tasting Water title later this year.
