BOGEY HOLE SAFETY FENCE TARGETED BY VANDALS

The state government says it will increase monitoring of Newcastle’s Bogey Hole, after vandals tampered with a safety fence aimed at preventing entry.
The pool has been closed since November last year, after concerns were raised about the stability of the overhanging cliff.
But the fence hasn’t stopped many swimmers from taking a dip.
A government spokesperson says the spot will remain fenced-off until it receives a geo-technical report confirming it’s safe to swim.
