JOB LOSSES AFTER HUNTER COMPANIES FACE DIFFICULTY

Nearly a hundred people could be out of work, following bad news for two Hunter companies.
Shearer Contracting has been placed in voluntary administration, which may cost around 30 local jobs, while Hexham business Total Fabrication Services has gone into liquidation, impacting more than 60 employees.
It comes after its sale to another company fell through.
Workers are owed more than $1.5-million in entitlements… liquidator Paul Gidley has told NBN News that eligible entitlements will be paid through the federal government’s Fair Entitlements Guarantee Scheme.
