Two people have died in a two-car crash on the New England Highway, north of Singleton.
Police have confirmed the cars collided head-on at Rixs Creek at around 3:30pm, and both drivers passed away.
Emergency services rescued another two people who were trapped.
They’ve been airlifted to John Hunter Hospital in a serious condition.
Drivers are being told to avoid the area if possible, with the New England Highway closed in both directions.
