MCCARTHY CLAIM ENVIRO RACE

After weeks of in-class learning, more than 100 Tamworth students ditched the classroom today for the ‘Great Enviro Race’.
Giving future generations a practical look at the importance of sustainable living.
Competing in small groups, students took part in a range of science and geography related activities.
“My favourite one so far was the critter one that’s just behind us so we had to make a jellyfish out of all sorts of recycled products which was pretty fun,” Maya Olrich, Peel High Student.
McCarthy Catholic College took out the top prize – a $4000 solar system fully installed at their school, making it more sustainable and reducing electricity bills.
