NORTH COAST POLICE SEARCH FINDS DRUGS AND UNREGISTERED FIREARM

A 28-year-old man has been arrested, after a police stop led to the discovery of drugs and an unregistered firearm, on the New South Wales North Coast.
Police stopped a Ford Territory on Saturday morning, at Skennars Head near Ballina, where they say the driver’s license had expired.
It’s alleged as police conducted further checks the man accelerated away, before being stopped again nearby.
Further investigations led to a loaded revolver being found on the side of Skennars Road, while it’s alleged drugs and ammunition were found at the man’s accommodation.
He was charged with multiple offences including possessing an unregistered firearm, and will face court later today.
