A week after announcing a plan to filter players back to the Newcastle rugby League competition, the Knights are set to include a major pre-season trial against local clubs.
Set to highlight the opening of the redeveloped St John Oval at Charlestown, the Knights will play a range of local clubs in their first pre-season hit-out mid february.
After that, they’ll travel south to take on Melbourne before returning to play a now traditional match against the Sharks at Cessnock but those games seemed a world away today for players, including Zeb Taia.
