HUNTER TOURISM NUMBERS INCREASE

The latest International Visitor Survey has seen an increase in overseas tourists coming to the Hunter.
Close to 200,000 visited the area last year taking in our beaches, vineyards and cultural attractions.
They brought $218 million to the local economy, each spending an average of around $1000.
Meanwhile the State government has announced one million dollars will go into two Port Stephens park upgrades, including a new skate park and amenities at Robinson Reserve at Birubi Point.
