TEENAGERS ARRESTED AFTER ALLEGEDLY CRASHING STOLEN VEHICLE IN LAKE MACQUARIE
Four teenagers were arrested after a stolen Toyota RAV4 crashed in the Lake Macquarie suburb of Dudley early this morning.
Police and emergency services were called to the intersection of Redhead Road and Ocean Street after reports of a car on fire in a public reserve.
Witnesses have told police they saw five people run from the car after it crashed into a tree.
Police used the Dog Unit to search for the teenagers, later arresting two boys and two girls.
They were taken to Belmont Police Station where an 18-year-old was charged and refused bail to appear before Newcastle Local Court.
A 17-year old was also charged and denied bail to appear before a children’s court.
One of two 14-year-olds will be dealt with under the Youth Offenders Act, the other was released without charge.
