THERE COULD BE A NEW LIFE FOR THE QUEEN’S WHARF TOWER

While time’s up for Queen’s Wharf Tower in Newcastle, it could have a second life.

Newcastle City Council has received requests from prospective buyers, wanting to make the icon their own.

As a result, this Tuesday a tender process will be launched.

“There’s an opportunity for interested groups from right across the country to put in a proposal if they want to see the tower pop up near them.”

Interest has stretched from as far as Western Australia, with ideas ranging from its original use as an observational tower, to an artificial reef.
