Newcastle organisation, the Breast Cancer Institute of Australia, known as Breast Cancer Trials has been handed the Keys to the City by Lord Mayor Nuatali Nelmes.
The group, established in 1978 has spent the past 40 years finding treatments and prevention strategies for people affected by breast cancer.
CEO Dr Soozy Smith accepted the Key to the City this morning, on behalf of the group which now has 800 members.
