LOCAL RUNNER SET FOR SIX FOOT TRACK MARATHON

Local runner Kim Cook is set to take part in the gruelling Six Foot Track Marathon tomorrow.

The challenging course starts at Katoomba and wraps up at the Jenolan Caves.

The 61-year-old from Terrigal Trotters knows the course all too well. It will be his fourth time at the event.

“It’s an iconic race and once you do it once, you get hooked on it. It’s very strategic, you’ve got to plan when you’re going to run fast and save yourself.”

Cook already has plenty of medals in the cabinet.

He took out his age group at the Ironman 70.3 in Western Sydney, which saw him qualify for the World Championship in South Africa in September.
