WALLET FULL OF CASH LEADS TO $100,000 FIND
Police have found more than $100,000 in cash, after stopping to pick up a wallet that fell from the roof of a car, north of Newcastle.
Around 6:40 on Monday evening, police saw a wallet fall from the roof of a Holden Calais, on the Pacific Highway near Karuah.
The Calais continued south along the freeway, before it was stopped by police, where a search uncovered more than $100,000 in cash, cannabis, ice and a knife.
A Lismore man was arrested and taken to Raymond Terrace Police Station, where he was charged with multiple offences including dealing with the proceeds of crime.
