TWO SHARKS FOUND SPEARED AT UMINA BEACH

Two juvenile sharks were found speared at Umina Beach yesterday afternoon.

It was first feared they were protected grey nurse sharks, but experts have since identified them as dusky whalers.

Dusky Whalers can be legally taken subject to local rules, but there is a bag limit of one per person.

The Department of Prime Industries are still investigating.
