A 54-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder and aggravated break and enter following an incident in the Lake Macquarie suburb of Mount Hutton.
It’s alleged the man entered the Kestral Avenue property last night, smashing his way through a glass door with a hammer, before assaulting the homeowner.
The victim, who is a relative, sustained suspected skull fractures and remains in John Hunter Hospital.
He will appear at Toronto Local Court today.
