Tamworth may soon be home to a new $4.6-million development including a retirement village, nursing home and community centre.
RSL LifeCare has lodged a development application with Tamworth Regional Council to build the project on land near the intersection of Moore Creek Road and Browns Lane.
The proposal outlines a 60 bed nursing home, including a dementia wing, 60 home retirement village and community centre.
If successful, construction should commence by mid to late 2018, with completion expected by the end of 2020.
Once up and running, the facility will employ around 80 people.
