WRITERS FESTIVAL EXPANDS TO CESSNOCK
The Newcastle Writers Festival will expand to the Hunter Valley for the first time.
Several childrens authors will journey to Cessnock this year, sharing their stories with hundreds of school students.
More than 130 writers feature in the schedule for the April event, and around two-thirds of the program will be free-of-charge.
“We’re really committed to that, that enables people from all walks of life to come along and not have to put their hand in their pocket.”
The state government has contributed $70,000 towards the festival.
Tickets are now on sale.
