CSU OFFICIALLY OPENED IN PORT MACQUARIE

After years of planning and construction, Charles Sturt University’s Port Macquarie campus was officially opened today.

Staff and students moved to the new site earlier this year, which is the first of three stages in the multi-million-dollar development.

“This is a region that’s under-served in terms of higher education, and we really felt that we could fill that gap, and that’s what we’re doing, we’re filling the gap – we want to keep people in the region,” CSU Vice-Chancellor Professor Andrew Vann said.

The ceremony, also included the official naming of the award-winning building.

“The building’s been named after Kathryn Pitkin, who was the deputy chancellor of Charles Sturt University and part of the decision-making, but it’s a real chance to honour her for her work.”
