EROSION WOES PROMPT COUNCIL TO LOOK FOR NEW SITE

Newcastle City Council is searching for a long-term site in Stockton as it looks to relocate a childcare centre.
Rough seas and high tides recently caused significant erosion behind the Mission Australia-operated facility.
“What we are focusing on now is identifying a piece of land, it will take over 12 months to construct a premises for a childcare centre.” (Newcastle Council CEO, Jeremy Bath)
A temporary outdoor playground to the south of the building is being set up for the centre’s 43 children.
