HIGH SPEED PURSUIT ENDS WITH FIREARM DISCHARGED
An independent critical incident investigation is now underway into a very public arrest in Coffs Harbour yesterday.
Two men were taken into custody after a high speed Pacific Highway pursuit, where a police firearm was discharged.
The pursuit ended at the Combine Street intersection around 3.30 when this Ford sedan became trapped in traffic.
Police allege during a pursuit from Nambucca Heads it had been driven at speeds in excess of 190 kilometres an hour.
During the arrest of the men aged 20 and 2, it’s alleged a bullet fired from an officer’s gun hit the car.
The 21-year-old will remain in custody and face court next Monday.
