MINISTER REVIEWS BRIDGE FUNDING

New South Wales Roads Minister, Michael Daley, has agreed to review disaster relief funding for a new bridge at Somerton.
The original bridge over the Peel River collapsed under the weight of a grain truck after the November floods.
The RTA had originally agreed to pay for only half the cost of a new bridge, arguing the old one had been deteriorating before the flood hit.
A delegation, including Tamworth Regional Council representatives, met with the minister this week.
He’s agreed to have another look at the issue.
