DAMS FEEL PINCH IN HOT WEATHER
As the hot weather continues to wreak havoc across the New England and North West – the region’s dams are beginning to feel the pinch.
In just seven days, Lake Keepit’s water level has dropped almost six per cent – evaporation combining with irrigation releases by Water New South Wales for the dramatic drop.
The lake – which is almost as big as Sydney Harbour – has been popular with tourists this holiday season.
Meanwhile at Chaffey Dam – the water level has dropped to 84.2 per cent.
