The National Parks and Wildlife Service will block access to Dudley Beach on Sunday afternoon, following advice from police about an unauthorised New Year’s Eve party.
The event was being planned on Facebook, with posts indicating people would bring large amounts of alcohol and fireworks.
Organisers have since cancelled the party.
Police are warning people not to attend, and say they’ll consider other measures such as implementing emergency alcohol free zones and a Public Safety Order, if necessary.
