CORRECTIONS OFFICER CHARGED OVER ALLEGED CONTRABAND OFFENCES
A Corrective Services employee will face court after allegedly bringing drugs into a Cessnock correctional facility.
The drugs were found in the 29-year-old man’s wallet during a drug dog operation at the facility yesterday.
Police further allege the man brought contraband into the facility in exchange for cash on at least 10 occasions this year.
He’s been charged with two counts of corruptly receiving benefit, and bringing drugs into a place of detention.
The officer has been suspended from duty and will appear in Cessnock Local Court next month.
