NEW BRIDGE FOR BOWRAVILLE
Bowraville is set to get a new bridge at the town’s main entry point, with the State Government today agreeing to contribute $500,000 toward the $2.5-million project.
Lanes Bridge, which is an aging timber structure, regularly goes under water even with minor flooding in the Nambucca River.
The new bridge will be a concrete beam construction which will be increased in height and length.
“getting bridges like that one at Bowraville fixed and improved is very important to productivity, there’s a lot of important dairy farms out there and beef producers.” (runs: 10 secs, ends: beef producers)
“that’s really exciting news for us, Lanes Bridge has been a millstone around out necks for years, it’s going to be a very expensive bridge to replace.” (runs 8 secs, ends: to replace)
