BYSTANDERS INTERVENE IN ATTEMPTED PHARMACY ROBBERY
Two bystanders have apprehended a would-be thief, after he allegedly attempted to hold-up a Gold Coast pharmacy.
The man entered a business on Marine Parade in Southport just before 8:20pm on Saturday, and allegedly threatened to make use of a firearm.
Police say he then started filling a bag with medication.
But two men who were in the store at the time restrained him until police arrived, and the 47-year-old Burleigh Waters man was arrested and charged with armed robbery.
One of the men restraining the man suffered a broken knuckle as a result of the incident.
