Liverpool Plains Shire Council is encouraging residents to be water smart this summer.
The reminder comes 12 months on from the Werris Creek Water Treatment Plant experiencing the first of six spikes in water production requirements.
Mayor Andrew Hope says the levels are currently below average but if demand spikes similar to recent summers, water conversation measures may need to be introduced.
Quipolly Dam is currently down 1.9 per cent compared to November, sitting at 75.3 per cent capacity.
