A search is underway for a missing boy at a Port Macquarie beach.
Police say a mother and her two sons were walking along Lighthouse Beach around 1:30pm, when the 11-year-old went swimming in waist-deep water.
He was swept into a rip and his 17-year-old brother went in to save him.
When he couldn’t locate his sibling, he managed to swim to shore.
Emergency crews are now carrying out a search, which will continue for the rest of the day.
