THREE CHARGED OVER ISLINGTON SERVICE STATION ASSAULT

Police are appealing for the victims of an alleged assault in a Newcastle suburb to contact them, after three men were charged over the incident.
The alleged assault took place at about 10pm last night, at a service station on Maitland Road in Islington when the three men entered the store and assaulted two people inside.
Police also say the three men were armed with weapons, and fled the scene in a car.
An employee in the store was not injured, but the two people who were assaulted also fled the scene.
Police were later patrolling the area and located the vehicle and the three men.
The men, aged between 22 and 27, were each charged with armed with intent to commit indictable offence, among other offences.
