DAPA THEATRE SOLD, BUT WILL STAY AS CREATIVE SPACE
A new era for one of Newcastle’s beloved theatres…
The Dance and Performing Arts Academy space in Hamilton has been sold, after more than 15 years.
Community educator WEA Hunter will now take the reigns.
“Sad to be going but excited that these wonderful new people are going to take this theatre to the next level,” Lesley Stevenson , the former owner says.
“The opportunity to acquire a facility like this which is so accessible to out community and continue to have it run as a performing arts and creative arts space is just so exciting for us,” Rowan Cox, from WEA Hunter says.
It’ll be used for classes, productions and community activities.
